IP 0.0.0.0

I have setup my VPN
and it was working fine, till one morning NO CONNECTION.
I go to IP Configuration....
STEP 1 RUN winipcfg
STEP 2 Relase IP
STEP 3 Renew
this does not work, as i get 0.0.0.0

We had the same problem in another PC with windows XP
and had to format to solve the problem.

I am determined to find a solution to my laptop.
PLEASE HELP.
 
Are you connecting but not getting an IP address or the VPN doesn't get
established at all?

If you are using DHCP which I assume you are because you

are trying to renew your IP address, you need to look at
your DHCP server. If you use DHCP your laptop is
broadcasting a request for a DHCP server to return an IO
address based on the Mac(hardware address) of you nic. If
you are not getting one then the DHCP server(could be a
cable modem, or widows server, or even a router)is not
responding or doesn't recognize you nic hardware address
anymore.
