I remember reading somewhere about the REV drive being capable of
handling up to 500 Gig storage on future media. Suposedly they were
going to try and double the REV disk storage every 18 months. Does
anyone know if this correct? or just a rumor?

According to Tom's they're projecting 360 GB in 2009.

By which time Terabyte hard drives will be $100. Gotta give Iomega
credit, though: they've lasted longer than I thought they would.

The triumph of marketing over, well, just about any practical consideration.

The problem is that these things sound OK at the moment, if one ignores
the fact that HDD capacities have been skyrocketing and the cost per GB
has been tumbling, so what looks well-priced now will be much too
expensive later, when Iomega will charge whatever they want for their
disks.

Anybody wanna buy an only-slightly-used Iomega Jaz drive with a 1GB
disk? Cheap!
