involuntary changing home page and unable to open more then one exploer

i used to be able to open a number of internet exporers
and search on the internet using more then one. now i
cant open more then one. also my home page keeps changing
all the time without me changing it. how do i stop that.

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".
