Invites to Non-Outlook email users

Can I send a readable calendar invite to non-outlook email users? Currently
invites I send to Yahoo email users, for example, appears to them jumbled and
confusing.
 
The only non-Outlook type invite that can go out is iCal files which are
Internet standard invites. Not sure if Yahoo can interpret them but it
might. What version of Outlook are you using?
