PowerPoint is written as presentation software for the screen, in this role
it is excellent. But when we start to use it as a Publishing tool, it has
some quirky behaviors that you will have to allow for.
I strongly recommend that you use a publishing tool to do publishing work.
However, if you are locked into PowerPoint, be aware of a few things.
Transparent gradients are not on all printers.
Printing area is centered inside the printer margins and is usually NOT page
centered.
Almost all printers are not able to print to the edge of the page
If I still have not talked you out of using PowerPoint for Publishing, then
make yourself a mock-up of how you want the card to look. Fold it and draw
rough shapes where you want them. Then, unfold the paper and use the slide
as your page. You will need a lot of test runs to make everything look the
way you envision, so be patient.
