I've seen screen rotation as a feature in some graphics card drivers.
Control Panel/Display/Settings tab/Advanced button. ATI, Nvidia (NView) and
others. Check these settings for that option. The video card utilities may
also have a link in the Start/All Programs menu.
If this is the problem, there may be a keyboard combination that activates
this rotation feature that you inadvertently pressed. Some have reported
that CTRL+<any arrow key> will rotate the screen display.
This could also be a joke. There are several small programs that can rotate
the screen display.
