inventory

I am working on a DB that has Inventory of spare parts.
one field is "Qty on Hand" and one is "Qty Used". How do I
get "Qty on Hand" to change when I enter a qty in "Qty
Used" and then reset "qty Used" back to Zero? Any help
would probably keep me from pulling out what little hair I
have left.
I am very new at this so please don't make it too
technical. Also I am a bummy when it comes to visual
basics. please help.

is this a form we are talking about. bound or unbound.

It is a form. One field is unbound, that is my PM No field
all else is bound.

I am not sure if I should be doing this in a query or in
properties of a form--DUH.
