I have a problem with XP driver for aslm75.

I found the following messgage in the Event Viewer:

When checking the System Information for "System Drivers" I found a
strange path:

Name Description File Type Started Start Mode State Status Error
Control Accept Pause Accept Stop
aslm75 aslm75 \??\c:\windows\system32\drivers\aslm75.sys Kernel
Driver Yes System Running OK Normal No Yes

Is anybody familar with this problem? Any proposals to overcome this
issue?

Thanks for your help!

This prefix \??\ is not used in the path itself. It is a Unicode version
function and indicates that the path should be passed to the system with
minimal modification. This allows the path length to be expanded up to
(approx) 32000 characters.

hi Dave, thanks for your post. I forgot to paste the messgage of the
Event Viewer:

The aslm75 service failed to start due to the following error:
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

This was actually the starting point of my question. Any idea what to
check?

This is an ASUS utility. You can either reinstall it or set it's startup
type to 'Disabled'
