This error gets generated when you try to set the value of
a user named function from outside that function. It can
happen if you create a public function with a name
identical to a varible in use elsewhere. Try posting an
example of a Click event procedure that's generating the
error and indicate which line it breaks on.

I have been creating a Database using Access 1997 and
have recently upgraded to the 2003 version. Most of the
db works fine after conversion within 2003; however, when
I try to use the old (or make new) buttons to open forms
etc I get informed of a 'Compile error: Invalid Outside
Procedure'. I don't want to have to do any forms or re-
input any data into new tables as they took quite a while
to create in the first place! Any ideas how to stop this
problem? Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Elwi
Cheers for the reply, but i've managed to sort the problem. turns out that the conversion from 97-03 generated some erroneous code at the top of the form so each time the buttons were used, the appropriate code couldn't be found. Seems to be working now - lets hope it stays that way! Thanks again.
