Hey real MS peeps,
I'm getting an "invalid CD key" err when trying to install.
This is a brand new box, never installed successfully
before.

The Box reads:
0801 Part no. X08-46836

The Booklet reads:
CD Set: x08-88585

....there's a 3rd CD set number printed somewhere else in
the documentation.

....are these numbers supposed to match up?
uggh*

0801 Part no. X08-46836 -- is a retail package for Windows XP Professional
CD Set: x08-88585 -- is a retail CD Booklet for Windows XP Professional

and inside the booklet on a bright yellow sticker is the PRODUCT KEY

You will not see any relationship between the 3 numbers.

If you are getting an invalid CD key then try again remembering that the
figure 8 may look like a B and 0 (zero) and O may be confused etc.

Greetings --

You need to examine the Product Key very carefully. It's awfully
easy to mistake a "B" for an "8," a "G" for a "6," an "S" for a "5,"
or a "Q" for a "0" or "O." Fortunately, Microsoft had the good sense
to leave the "1's," "I's," "O's," and "0's" out of the equation.
Also, be sure that your <CapsLock> is _off_ while entering the
Product Key.
