Getting invalid file on Boot.INI during start up. Other
than this error pc starts normally. Can editor be used to
rewrite and replace this file?

Yes. Boot.ini is a small text file, easy to edit with notepad or editor.
It's hidden & system; remove those attributes to view/edit it. If you're
not familiar with its usual format, be careful. On a single-OS machine,
it should look something like this...but that last entry starting with
"multi(0)disk(0).../fastdetect" is all one line, not wrapped):

[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
