Hi All,

When I boot up I have notice in the start screen a message that says
"Invalid Boot ini file, booting from C:/Windows".

Having done a Google search on the matter I found the following article,
Invalid Boot .ini, in MS Knowledge Base 330184, but being a novice I am
having trouble in implementing it. This is as far as I can get;

Insert XP CD ROM into drive and restart computer
Press any key to boot from CD
Press R to start Recovery Console
I don't have an administrator password so I press enter and the
following appears C:/Windows (which I assume is the command prompt)>
When I type in "bootcfg/list" I get the error message....The command is
not recognised. Type help for a list of supported commands. No matter
what I type I cannot get any further. Any help in this matter would be
greatly appreciated.

There is supposed to be a space between the "bootcfg" and
the forward slash like so:
bootcfg_/list
Or try just typing in "fixmbr" or "fixboot" without the
quotes to attempt to fix your problem.
Good luck!

Hi Mike!
it seems from your problem that u r on a right track but
it seems that the command u r typing at the command prompt
is being typed incorrectly. It should be "bootlog /list"
and not "bootlog/ list".
Try it out, it may work.
All the best.

Thanks Abel & Mike for your advice. I missed the space in the text, its
now fixed and running as it should.
