I'm likely to get RSI from clicking OK to hundreds of messages from AVG
telling me its found a virus.

Is there a way of getting rid of the message (whilst still dealing with the
virus of course!)?

More details needed: Do all the messages refer to the same virus? And what
(exactly) is the message(s) you're getting? It's possible you have hundreds
of viruses, but I would bet it's some kind of malfunction. You might try an
online virus scanner instead of AVG, such as...

each message gives the file name of the virus. Each name is different, I
find rebooting gets rid of most of the messages.

I'll get a screen shot the next time.

The readers of this newsgroup are a pretty savvy bunch.
Do you really think any of 'em are stupid enough to open a .doc file?

How can I show the error report then?

I though only .exe files were a problem?

You need to turn off System Restore and restart your cmputer to delete all
Restore Points. Then run a complete scan and you should be clean. Once
clean, you may turn System Restore back on.

That didn't make any difference.

The probl;em may be that after my Norton anti virus need a new subsciption
I downloaded and installed AVG.

AVG now seems to be finding viruses that have been put in the Norton anti
virus vault. (why does Norton just delete them?)

I don't want to uninstall Norton Internet Security as I want to continue to
use Norton anti spam.

There doesn't seem to be a way of removing or switching of Norton Anti Virus
or is there?
