My daughter downloaded the following for me, in an attempt to remove unwanted 'spy' intruders:
X-Cleaner
Spybot
Bazooka
Ad-aware

What can anyone tell me about the effeciency of those? They do seem to pick up a lot of garbage and clean it out. The only intruder so far that we have not been able to get rid of is some GUID in Media. Any suggestions???

All of the programs you listed work very well.
As far as GUID goes, (and this is only a geuss on my part). Check your windows media player,Tools>options>privacy,if send unique player ID to content providers is checked, uncheck it. Or perhaps it is something you downloaded with the media player and it is in the media library?
CWShredder and spywareblaster are also very good tools to have as well you can find both here:

Good Luck

Thank you for your comment. I must however let you know that English is not my first language and that I have much trouble with technical stuff. My daughter is helping me get around and in time, although I am 60, I sincerely hope to become as proficient as you and her. I am making the effort.

Yea, make me feel bad now............. : )

I have checked all of those programs out and they are all very nice and easy
to use.

If possible, when deleting files/folders etc. try to quarantine them. This
will allow you to put them back if you need to. Some of the programs don't
seem to allow you to quarantine, however. Just be careful.

Great job!

I to have had to "catch up" to my kids as well. I now can do things they
can't!(they don't know it either) : )

You have a good day now.
