I have been trying to capture some old VHS home movies to my compuer using
ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0 with the windows movie maker before the tapes were out.
I have been getting the error message "no such interface supported' when I
tied to use windows movie maker.

I am able to see my VHS movies on my monitor using ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0 TV<
but I can not get the windows movie maker to accept it. I have downloaded
the drivers for windows XP pro from the ATI web site, but it stills does not
work.

I have been told that the problem may be the windows movie maker program,
but I can ot seem to find it anywere to buy a new copy.

Can anyone help me? Thank you

The project you are undertaking is not something I do myself but I know that
Movie Maker does not work well when trying to capture analog and this is
likely why you are running into problems.
Beyond that you will have to wait for somebody else to respond to your post.

As far as "buying" a new copy of Movie Maker this is not possible since it
is a FREE program.
You can uninstall SP2 and then use Windows Update to redownload and
reinstall or you can, as I always suggest everybody should do, request a
free disk from Microsoft here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx
Version 2.1 comes with SP2 and the only way to install it that works is to
reinstall SP2.
Version 2.0 can be downloaded here:

Hope this helps

Not much to add to Wojo's post, as he hit the nail on the head, MM does not
work well with analogue capture. Try suing the app which came with the card
to capture, then google for a conversion tool to change this file from
whatever it is to an avi/wmv, import this to MM and edit.
Other options are to buy a dedicated analogue to digital conversion device,
either a proper card (tv in is not a proper card), external device or
digital cam with pass through.

What's the world coming to? Everybody wants to sue each other.
I think Graham meant USING not SUING. :-)
