Excel2007. Is it not possible to change the intervals in the legends in
a surface chart in Excel2007? In Excel2003 I could doubleclick on the
legends and hereby change the scale, but I can't figure out how to do it
in Excel2007.

I have uploaded a picture, so you can see my graph with the legends on
the right with the intervals I can't change.

Hope somebody can help.

Double clicking is broken in 2007 charts. Such a fundamental behavior.

Right click on the axis, choose the Format item in the pop up menu, and
see what that gets you.

As I see it this kind of formatting only regards the X or Y axis and not
the interval in the legends (100-200, 0-100 etc), which I ex wish to
change to 150-200, 100-150 etc.

Or is there something that I have missed?

Hi,

You need to format the value axis. Depending on you chart sub type this
axis may not be mouse selectable. If you have the 3d view then it's the
vertical value axis you need to select. From there changing the Min/Max
and Major values will alter the legend bands.
For the 2d views you can use either, Chart Tools > Format > Current
Selection. Pick Vertical (Value) Axis and then click Format selection.
Or you can display the Format dialog and then click back to the chart
and use the Down arrow to cycle though the major chart elements. Make
sure it's the down arrow as the up arrow does not go through the axis items.

This works great. Change to 3D graph and edit the Z-axis. After that
swich back to 2D.

I can't quite figure out where the "Chart Tools" are located in
Excel2007. I have a Danish version and therefore not the same names.

This also works, but I never have found this feature by my self. I will
use this (or the 3D convertion) in the future.

Thanx a lot for the very informative answer. Good that I can ask you
guys since Microsoft has made it very difficult to change this for a
"normal" user.

FYI:
"Chart Tools" is the contextual tab that appears when a chart is selected.
Within the Chart tools tab are the Design, Layout and Format tabs.

OK, now I get it and it works :-)

Thanks again.
