WHo knows how I can get 2 3D-objects created in ppt
(parallepipedic box for example) be ineterpenetrating ,
that is to say the 2 boxes are crossing themselves.
The same is true with 2 crossing planes.

Anybody knows an add-in or something that would make the
trick?

Regards to all,
Pierre

PowerPoint is an amazing presentation software, but rendering complex
intersecting 3-d graphics is not one of the things it does well. However,
there are some wonderful software programs out there that do. So...

....use one of the programs that does rendering well
....export results to an motion graphics (AVI/GIF) file
....import the AVI/GIF into PowerPoint

That is one of the reasons that PowerPoint is so amazing, it presents what
other programs can produce, rather then trying to do it itself. You could
use a Direct-X Active-X add-in, I suppose, to display about the same thing.
Others will have solutions, also, I'm sure.

Pierre,

There's this dude called Glen Millar who's just mad when it comes to
'thinking outsite the box' with powerpoint and 3D stuff (using powerpoints
in-built 3d toolbar.

I'm not sure if he's done what you requested as I do not know what a
parallepipedic is. But have a look around his site....he may have already
done this effect...

Dear TAJ Simmons and B,

thanks a lot for the answers.
it true that I am amazed by the great possibilities and at
the same time the severe limitations of ppt.

For TAJ :
By interpenetrating I meant a kind of intersection of
volumes, with a portion hidden.
A parallepipedic is a cube with non-equal side length,
butthe side are kept parallel.
Nevertheless, already intersecting planes in 3D space
seems impossible for ppt.

For B :

do you have in mind a good software that gives possibility
to realize intersection of 3D object?
I thought to potoshop, but may be too complicate for this,
hu?

Thanks a lot anyhow.

Regards,
Pierre

PowerPoint and Photoshop are both 2D packages and any 3Dness is fake.
Of course you too can fake up a 3D image in a 2D environment if you have the
spatial awareness and artistic skills, but if not then you need a 3D
modelling package like Cinema 4D, TrueSpace, 3D Studio...there are many
around.
