i have just upgraded to windows xp. and now when i get on the internet i'm only on for a few minuits and i get this message that there is a problem with nt authority\system and the remote procedure call and will be shut down which i
does shortly after. is there anything i can do here

Hi Whit,

When the shutdown warning appears, click start/run and enter "shutdown -a"
to halt the process. It's a virus called blaster or lovesan. Information:

You need the patch described here to protect against it:

Problem is, you needed to install the patch BEFORE you got infected to avoid
it.

hey thanks nutcase . my norton said that virus was on the computer but could not fix it i will get with them and the microsoft site u gave me thanks a lot whit
