can anyone tell me how to delete words from my search
engine so that when i type a letter a hundred words do
not pop up ihave already tried deleting the cookies and
clear history

there is an IE setting which you can tweak to adjust the "history" lookup
cache.

Go to IE, open Internet Options, go to content and select "Autocomplete"
you can disable this feature here.
