I am unable to log onto a certian website from my desk top , but this site is
fine from my laptop . i have checked all security settings and restricted
websites and these are fine , i can only the host has block my pc

As you don't give us your version of Windows, try the information below as
it may apply to your OS.

Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content.) It's often recommended that the TIF
folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS

Any firewall program you use – Zone Alarm, for instance/example, can
block out sites and their cookies (which some sites require for using their
stuff).

Thanks for the help but still no joy , When i type the web page it says
Opening www ** pauses for 30 seconds the says we cant find *** and defaults
to MSN Search even though i go from yahoo

Any ideas would be welcome
