internet video files

I am a teacher who sometimes views news video files from various web sites. On my old Windows 98 pc, if I thought I could use the clip for a lesson, I could always search and find an actual wmv file or whatever somewhere in the Temporary Internet Files folder and re-run it. But with Windows XP, either the files aren't created during viewing or I can't search for and find them like I did before (where is Windows Explorer, anyway; and is the Temporary Internet Files folder hidden or something?; where is it?). Is this supposed to be this way? Does XP just work differently and I can't change it or is there a default setting somewhere I need to change. Help! This is annoying that something useful is no longer an option for me.

Look in C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files\Content.IE5

Windows Explorer can be found on the Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories.

Why don't you just save the files to a folder on your hard drive?

Make sure you have Windows Explorer set to display all files and folders.
Tools, Folder Options, View tab.
