A couple of days ago, I realized that I cannot download
anything from any website. I can open and view webpages
just fine, and can browse the internet without a problem,
but I cannot download any files. When I try, I get this:
"Internet Explorer cannot download ____ from ____.
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet
Site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot
be found. Please try again later."

This has been going on for 3 or 4 days, and seems to only
effect files I try to download, and also anything having
to do with ActiveX. I am running WinXP. Anyone have any
solutions?

Sounds familiar. Have you deleted your browser cashe lately...ever?
If not, this might be the problem. When this cashe gets full it behaves as
you described.

To delete your cashe, open IE, click Tools at the top of the window, select
Internet Options from the drop down menu. Under Temporary Internet Files,
click Delete Files. A dialogue box will open -- be sure to check the box
next to the phrase "Delete all offline content."

When I first experienced this problem, I discovered I had over 20Gigs of
junk stored in the internet temp file. It was taking up over half of the
40GB harddrive! It's a good idea to delete the cashe on a regular basis.

HTH,

That worked. Thanks so much for the help.
