I was trying to setup a net meeting using NetMeeting. A window appeared on my monitor warning me about internet spam and asking if I wanted to prevent internet spam on my PC. I selected yes and I have not been able to setup a net meeting since.

I am using Windows XP Home Edition

I would appreciate any help to resolve this problem

Regards,

Tony

A sneaky intruder. Do not click on such requests, or purported
advisories from MicroSoft. They are most always bogus.

To detect the intruder, and have the option to remove it, try one or both
of these free utilities...

http://www.lavasoftusa.com (AdAware)
http://security.kolla.de (SpyBot)

Once done, try configuring NetMeeting once again.
If no go, reply to this post, stating what you have already tried.

An afterthought...
Enable the XP firewall (see HELP & SUPPORT) or install another firewall
program.

You might also disable the Messenger Service, under START|ALL
PROGRAMS|ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS|SERVICES. Locate the item and double-click
on it. Click the arrow to the right of the box. Select DISABLE and click
on OK. (This is NOT Windows Messenger.)
