How can I find _all_ the internet shortcuts on my computer and copy the lot
into a single folder?

TIA

John

Sorry, I should have explained better :o)
....I leave internet shortcuts all over the place!!, not just in favorites.
That's why I said _all_

I tried *Searching* for *.htm
Unfortunately, this finds all the local ones as well...

I wasn't sure what you were talking about, so I did an experiment. I
put a new shortcut on my desktop which pointed to www.yahoo.com. I
noticed in Explorer that I could not tell what the file name of this
short cut was. So I went to my desktop folder in my profile and
discovered that this shortcut has a *.url extension.

So, I believe that if you search you entire hard disk for files with
*.url extensions (using Windows search program), you'll find all the
internet shortcuts.

Search for files named *.url

Of course!!! How utterly stupid of me!
Uniform Resource Locator
All 1380 of them!!!!!

I couldn't think of the extension :o))
Silly question now...why is the extension hidden?
Nothing else is! (I don't think....)

Why the extension is hidden:
Folder Options> View: Hide extensions of known file types.

Also:Folder Options> File Types> Internet Shortcut> Advanced: By default
the box for this file type is not checked to show the extension. Even if
the other setting in Folder Options>View is set to show extensions, these
particular ones *should* stay hidden. To change, check the box and OK your
way out of there.

OK, it was the latter, I wasn't aware that enabling the former didn't show
_all_ file extensions.

Thanks!
