Hi All,

Are there any methods I could use to share my internet
connection from my computer without the need to buy any
extra hardware, but not use ICS or have it enabled?

I don't particularly want to buy any extra hardware (or
software) if I can help it.

You might find some free Internet sharing programs that run on XP at
these sites:

What's wrong with using ICS?

My problem with ICS is that it only uses the ip address
192.168.0.1, but I already have a server on my network
using that address, and to change it would be very time
consuming.

Cheers for your help.

Danny,

sorry for insisting, but it sounds kind of odd. Normally
changing the IP address of a server takes far less time than to
circumvent ICS (or to earn the money to buy a WAN router, even
though those routers are pretty cheap these days. Example: SMC
7004 VBR).

Without knowing the background, the question sounds at first as
if you're asking to ride a bicycle without using wheels.

But if there is a good reason not visible in the messages, the
other proposal is correct and you could use third party software
like that made by SyGate (www.sygate.com). The router is the
better, maybe even cheaper solution though.
