I just installed XP Pro. and now my internet send is
crazy. I can hardly get anything to recieve because my
computer is sending something somewhere all the time? How
do I shut this down so I can use my internet again and
what and where is this information going? I've shut down
and rebooted several times but as soon as I log on again
it starts sending again. Can anyone help?

You have a virus...msblast maybe?

Switch !ON! the XP firewall! You know how to do that?? If not let me
know....

It's in the properties of your net connection, 'enable connection firewall'

also do a virus scan to disable the virus... as that's what it'll almost
certainly be

it happened to me too when if irst got the computer, as i had the firewall
disabled.

any help, just ask

Look to see if you have enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
This is on the WINS tab under advanced TCP/IP settings.
I had a similar problem when I enabled NetBIOS, but the
sends stopped when I selected the Default setting.

Hi Doug,

It sounds like your box may be infected with a virus. If you have a
anti-virus program, make sure it is up to date
