I am looking for a way to restrict users of a machine running XP w/ SP2 from
browsing the internet. They need to be able to send/receive email via
Outlook, but do not need to browse. The machine is hooked to DSL. Any
suggestions?

Perhaps you could put a wildcard in the restricted sites zone (www.*.*). I
think you have to have IE in order to run some software - like McAfee
VirusScan v8 for one.

Are you restricting all users on the network, or just a particular machine?
Are you running a hardware or software firewall?

Ideally, you could handle this at the network firewall, but you should be
able to handle it via a software firewall on the machine. SP2 does have an
integrated firewall (accessed from the Control Panel) that will allow you to
block HTTP.

This particular machine is not on a network. Right now there is only Windows
Firewall on the machine.
