I have a Compaq DeskproEN 1GHz with 512RAM W2KSP3 and a
modem by PCTel HSP56 that works OK on attaching to the
internet but then the response in opening new pages starts
to degenerate after being connected for about five minutes.
I have tried the modem driver from PCTel and another 3rd
party driver but the response did not change with either
driver loaded. I've cleared all history and cookie files.
My paging file is set at 765 and 1K. I have tried enabling
and disabling flow and compression controls.
Checking "status" of the connection (rt click on the
connection icon) shows bytes sent. In the first five
minutes the bytes received is far greater then the bytes
sent, but after that the bytes sent increases dramatically
with the ratio after 1/2-hour about 9:1
All suggestions are welcome as I've run out of ideas.
