Anyone familiar with this shareware? How it works and ways to defeat it?

Don't know and it's hard to find out much since the home site,
http://www.btlarkin.com/shareware, is dead and I notice no updates since
March 2002.

The only thing I found were some user comments at windowsmarketplace, one
said it was easy to bypass by simply unchecking the startup entry with
msconfig and another claimed it killed internet access completely
regardless of entering the password or not.

What I have discovered is, once it is activated, it blocks internet
access even if I end the program with the task manager.

I'm not surprised as I imagine the 'program' is simply an interface into
changing the settings.

That's different than "run msconfig," uncheck program in startup, and reboot.

The user commenting didn't clarify whether than worked regardless of the
setting at the time it's was removed from startup.

Good one! It's a case of boss control.
I think I'll have to copy down the internet settings while the lock is off.

it may have changed the systems winsock files, there is a winsockfix.exe out
there on google that will repair or if you are familiar with the files
associated, you could just replace them.

I'll look into that, thanks.
