Could someone please advise me as to a couple of setting preferences
there?
Under Privacy should I check "allow session cookies" (I understand the
cookies concept, but not sure of what session ones are).
And under Advanced should I check "empty temporary internet files
folder"?

Stay Safe; Marty

Hi Marty, a session cookie is deleted when you leave the website that
installed it,
"empty temporary internet files folder"
I have set my system to do this,If you do not delete this folder once in a
while the amout of space used for the internet temp. folder will become full,
and when surfing some of the files will have to be deleted for the new page
to load, slowing down your internet speed, also when this folder is full
sometimes you cannot save a picture as a jpeg.

A session cookie should be only for that logon, the session.
A persistent cookie may have a life of many years.
