I have a network with a 3Com OfficeConnect router/firewall and cable modem
internet access. I have have a problem from time to time with various Windows
operating systems that all use IE6 SP1. I can connect to my network. I can
connect to the router and login, but I can not connect to the internet. just
get a url not fpound error. I don't know where to look for this problem. It
has happened on several occasions with different generations of hardware
(i815, i845, Via) and versions of Windows (ie.. Win98SE, ME, 2000, XP Home).

Can anybody tell me besides reinstalling IE and NIC driver what I can do?
One cure is to do a dirty install. This only works on WIN98SE and is a pain.
I have the problem on an XP Home machine now. A dirty install is not an
option.
