Internet problems

I have had a variety of viruses (w32.pinfi, backdoor optix), resulting in the infection of over 4000 files on my brothers PC. After using Norton Anti-virus to clear them up, I have found that my web browser initially works perfectly but within 5 minutes times out and then does not retrieve any webpages. If i reboot, the browser is fine, until a further 5 mins. However, MSN messenger does not seem to be affected at all.

Anyone come across this proble

Hi Sal
If I found that much potential for file damage on my pc (and 4000 infected
files is very worrying) I'd be reformatting and reinstalling everything
including the operating system. You may be finding niggles from now till
kingdom come.

I'd delete my temporary Internet files and run these tools to remove
any remaining spyware and undesired browser help objects:
