Greetings.
Trying to set up Internet printing - to enable remote users to print to
a network printer across the internet.
The servername\printers web site works internally - that is I can
browse to the printers list and do a CONNECT.
However, when I access the web site from outside the network (across
the internet) I can get to the printers page but when I attempt to do
the CONNECT I get an 'access is denied' error message.
I've read KB 323428
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;323428 and
believe I've followed all the steps. I've tried a few permutations of
including and excluding anonymous access.
I don't know if there is a protocol issue. I found a newsgroup article
that mentioned port 631 although the MS KB article did not. In any
event, I did a port forwarding from my router to the print server for
631 and this did not help.
If you have any experience/suggestions with this I would really
appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks.
Regards,
Allen
