Hello List,

I have a home network with 3 PCs, a network hub with a switch and a cable
modem.

Frequently I will notice that Internet traffic suddenly stops transmitting,
whether it is loading a web page or sending/receiving email. If I launch my
web browser, it will "prompt" the traffic to resume. Sometimes I have to
launch and close the browser ten times or more to complete transmission of a
message with a large attachment.

Any ideas?

Hello Lee,

here is some gerenal troubleshooting information that you can start with:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314095

Also, make sure that you scan your PCs for viruses using the latest signature files from your AV software vendor.
Do you any kind or Firewall software installed on these PCs? consider enabling ICF if using Windows XP.
