My problem is the general tab under internet options is
missing and I have no way to set my home page address. We
have had a lot of adware and spyware come up on our
computer can they delete that tab off? I also tried
downloading Internet Explorer last night but nothing new
happened the tab still was missing. Does anyone know what
to do?

Yes, spyware can put a restriction on the tab, so this is only an
immediate fix.
Start-Run-Regedit

There could be more than one "GeneralTab" value.
Try these keys first and then search for GeneralTab (no space)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel

Remove "GeneralTab" if present.
