Internet Options

Ryan

when I try to access the "Internet Options" feature from
my IE browser I get a message that says "This operation
has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator."
Now there is no system admin, that would be me if you
want to get technical. So what's the problem here?

thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Have you enabled the following options in SpyBot?: [Tip from MVP Mike
Burgess]
"Lock IE control panel against opening from within IE"

If so, this is the cause. If you are not using Spybot, the problem may be
due to a spyware.

"Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs". Download fix from:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k

Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system and eliminate
the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary. ** Remember to
update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

( Caused by a malware called CoolWebSearch. Also, Download:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip )
