Hi, using WinXPSP2home, IE6.0.2900.2180.
Internet options gives only two tabs. Programs and Privacy. Thr Programs
tab works properly. The Privacy tab has the cookie slider and five buttons.
Default is greyed out. Sites and Advanced are clickable but do nothing.
Import and Settings work properly as far as I can see.

I have Spybot installed, have changed its settings. No change. Have
downloaded the file from
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_fix_inetoptions_restrictions.htm.
No change.
Should I have more tabs? Seem to remember one that lets the user select
where the temp files ar located and stuff and to delete the cache.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

TIA

Thanks Ricky, tried that and still no joy.

Any more advice? This is beginning to irritate now ;)

thanks

First eliminate any spyware.
What You Should Know About Spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/devioussoftware.mspx

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

tonight and post it at one of the sites you gave. Hopefully that'll do the
trick.
