This is my home computer. For some reason, when I try to
access Internet Options I get the following error:

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator.

I am the system admin., it is my home system! Can someone
please let me know why this error message is coming up and
how I can correct it? Another problem and the reason I
found the admin issue, I can not read some text from web
pages. The font comes through as some kind of wingdings.
If I copy the text to notepad I can read it fine. I tried
to check my fonts setting but it is ok. I went through
the start menu. So, could someone please help me out. It
is very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Rich

Rich,

Reset the Internet Explorer tabs and remove all the browser restrictions.
Download the script from:

Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IE_reset_restrictions.reg

Also, refer Fix 268 from Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Restore All tabs in IE and Removes the ** Internet Options ** Restrictions
as well

The problem is due to:

1. A spyware. Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system
and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

2. You have enabled SpyBot immunize (protection) feature or any other
similar software
