My internet stopped working yesterday. When I say not working, I can't get
any web pages up on IE6 or Mozilla. I thought it was my cable modem, so I
spent 2 hours on the phone with the cable tech. He said when he tried to
remotely acces my system, a firewall was stopping it. I have Zone Alarm so I
disabled it and made sure the Windows firewall was disabled but with the same
result. I know my modem is good because I can still sned and receive e-mail
with Outlook.

Does anyone know anything else I can try? Thanks.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
