My internet has been freezing up lately. Particularly,
one web site no longer lets me in [although i was able to
get in previously]. I see a little eye w/ a red circle
w/ a line thru it, on the bottom of the screen next to
the "internet" symbol. I think this is the symbol for a
secure site. Is this why I can't get totally in? I'm
able to log in, but the final graphics get hung up and
freezes everything. Please note that I could get in
before and now mysteriously can't [i did nothing in the
mean time, the firewall has been up the whole time]. Any
help??? I'm dying over here!! Thanks :)

Chris,

Try repairing IE:
How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP

If the problem occurs only in secure sites, then try MS KB 813444:
Troubleshoot Situations Where You Cannot Connect to SSL Secured (128-Bit) Web Sites by Using Internet Explorer in Windows XP
