When I click on an Internet link in a email in either OE or Outlook, nothing
happens. I have to cut and paste to get to the Web site. Any suggestions?

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT URL:Internet Shortcut)
and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

If that doesn't fix it, go to Start | Run and type

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

When I clicked on Edit it only showed "open" in grey. The "confirm open after
download" is checked. This is while URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol is
showing. I also have the same with "privacy" after it.

Also, in "run" after typing what you suggested, I got the message from
regsvr32 that dllregisterserver in urlmon.dll suceeded. But I still can't
link in OE.

I goofed. Sorry. I followed your instructions, but I still can't connect to
the Net from OE. In the "Action" box, I put URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol.
Is this correct? If it is, then it didn't work. Anything else I can do?

1. You click on a link and an IE window doesn't even open:

http://www.oehelp.com/ielnk.aspx.

2. You click on a link and an IE window opens but it doesn't load:

Try re-registering all of the DLLs listed in this KB article...

3. Installing the latest Cumulative Patch for IE may solve the problem as a
side-effect. Check in at Windows Update.

Followed both KB instructions. Still can't open links in OE. When going into
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol, I click Advanced, select open, and click
Edit, but nothing shows. No "Application used to perform this action."
Nothing. And putting regsvr32 urlmon.dll gives me the dllregistryserver in
urlmon.dll succeeded. Anything else I can do?

Windows version?

Are you running IE7 Beta?

Assuming WinXP, is IE chosen as the default at [Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs >] Set Program Access and Defaults > Browser?

Aha! IE wasn't default. Many thanks, my friend.
