Internet Home Page part 2 Derobe

I tried to send a prior message to you and it failed. I believe it's because
of the homepage problem. what do I do if I can't get a response or an alert
from you when my questions are answered?

Hi Franklin,
Please try to tell us more about your Operating system and what happen, IE
version, Protection Software and is it a just Home page or Infection?.
Read these steps, also you may have a GPO policy installed/implemented to
prevent you from changing the home page or an Anti-Virus software doing the
blocking.
Try the below and let us know, if not we start from the gpedit.msc and the
registry Keys for changing the Policy and give you back control on your
system.
If you Hit the Icon Home on your browser you will get your home page
back or click on General tab and Retype your Home page Address/URL and click
[Apply] then [OK].
If not then Open a run command and type in:
regedit.exe and click [OK] on the Registry Editor locate the following:
Change the Home page in the following KEYS:
Click on *Main*
[+]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main.

and look in Right Pane/Window and Locate *Start Page* Right
Click on it and select Modify and enter the Data say for ex;
http://www.microsoft.com as your Home page and then Locate also this *Local
Page* and Right Click on it and select Modify and put the following;
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm

The same with this KEY:
[+] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
On the *Start Page* change it into http://www.microsoft.com

Leave the *Local Page* as it is if it have this string of Data:
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd={SUB_PRD}...... etc

Close the Registry and Reboot your computer.

Try the Home Page Lock and Unlock from here- line 63 1st column:

Bear in mind if you have a protection/security software that configured or
by default set to block any changes or alert you to take action, try to
reconfigure it to allow you to change the Home page.
Did you clicked on Apply then [OK] when you tried the URL for your new Home
page?.

Hello, I've just read your response to Bob's question regarding the Internet
Home Page problem. I'm having the same issue, however, I can't find the
Internet Options in neither tools or Control Panel. I have searched through
Network and Internet Connections and still can not find a way into this
program. There is an Internet Options within the switch mode of Control
Panel, but, again, it will not open, my guess is whatever this fake Security
Screen is -- it tells me I have a spyware and virus and has all of this links
to purchase something.
My guess is it's illegal and it's probably Phishing, you know, trying to get
my security information and then hit me with a sledge hammer.

I've tried Safe Mode, but I have no idea what I'm looking for.

(Problem 2) There also seems to be a TrayApp.msi that keeps trying to load,
but I won't saying it is not found and I need to put the CD-ROM disk back in
to get the files. This began happening when I placed a new Windows Registry
Repair Pro disk inside and ran it.

What can I do to get to the options to change the Host and History
as well as the cookies? And what to do about this TrayApp.mis thing? It is
highly irritating for Windows Installer to keep trying to load this thing. I
really need a fast response, I beg of you.

Hi,
Well, we will take this step-by step:
Please try in both Normal mode and Safe Mode, if Normal mode fail try safe
mode.
1- Please do the following:
Open a run Command and type in:
gpedit.msc click [OK]
On the group Policy locate this option under:
[&] User configuration
[+] Software Settings
[+] Windows Settings
[-] Administrative Templates
[-] Internet Explorer
[+] Application Compatibility
[+]Internet Control Panel
[ ] Offline Pages
[ ] Browser menus = Look in the right Pane/Window for this
Option:
[$]Tools menu:Disable Internet Options... menu option.
Make sure this not Disabled for your account by double clicking it and see
the settings there.
Note you can do any changes unless you are logged as administrator.

Another the registry by opening a run command and type in:
regedit click [OK] and on the Registry editor locate this Key:
[-]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies =
Edit if the IE Option is set to 1 set it to Zero.

[-]HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Policies/Microsoft/Internet
Explorer/Restrictions
= "NoBrowserOptions"
Try to delete it ("NoBrowserOptions") and Close the Registry and Restart
your computer.

Close the Registry and Reboot.
No options appear under Settings on the Advanced tab of the "Internet
