What is an internet gateway, why does one show up on my
network connections, and why can't I delete it?
The Internet Gateway comes from another device on your network, such
as a broadband router or an Internet Connection Sharing host computer.
It lets you monitor and control the Internet connection that the other
device is providing to your computer.
I don't know why you'd want to delete it, but here's how to do it:
1. If it comes from a broadband router, connect to the router's
built-in web interface and disable the Internet Gateway. Check the
router's documentation for details.
2. If it comes from an Internet Connection Sharing host computer, go
to that computer, right click the shared Internet connection, click
Properties, and un-check the box that says "Allow other network users
to control or disable the shared Internet connection".
