This is a new problem for two home computers using XP
home. After rebooting the computer, I must manually rerun
the "set up home network" program so my computer
recognizes my Linksys router and cable modem connection.

This did not use to happen. I bought and ran Norton today
and it says there are no viruses.

Suggestions?

I am having the exact problem the Stan described. Please
see my post on Oct 8. I tried everything from disabling
Norton. I have another laptop with a similar
configuration, ie. Norton, with no problems.

On the problem workstation, I would rename the Internet
Connection, reboot, same problem. When I would then run
the "Setup home network" again, the old connection I
renamed showed up. The setting is there in the
registry. It just does not show up in the Network
Properties.

Please follow up on this problem.

Thanks.

Did this happen before you installed Norton?
