hello,
I have been having problems with IE freezing over the last
few days. Initially, I am able to view pages fine, but
after a few, it seems to slow considerably, and finally am
unable to view any pages. If I restart computer, I can
view again until the same thing happens. The OEM has
helped me to reinstall modem and port drives, and I have
cleared history, cookies, etc with no success.
I have only added one piece of software (which has been
uninstalled) as well as uninstalled a few pre-loaded
online games which I did not want. My ISP cannot
recommend anything past trying a new phone number.
Has anyone experienced this problem? This has not always
happened, only recently.

Thanks

Got a good AntiVirus application (up to date)?

Even if you think you do, update it, do a full scan.. Also get the
FixWelchia tool from Symantec:
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/FixWelch.exe
Run it.

Patch your machine with all critical updates from:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Scan your system for spyware with these two applications (After
installing/updating them):
LavaSoft AdAware
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/
Spybot Search and Destroy
http://spybot.safer-networking.de/download.en.html

Turn on your Internet Firewall and read up on methods/apps/etc:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/

Stop using your real email address on news servers.. You will start getting
spam now, some that look like they are from Microsoft - They are NOT. Erase
them.

Hi, I am having the exact same problem that you are
describing. Unfortunately, I have not yet found a
solution. Please let me know if you have discovered
anything and I will do the same for you. Thanks, Adam
