internet failure

This is a strange one for me. I am logged into the internet on an msn-dsl
connection. The internet works alright until I leave the computer stand for
about an hour. When I try to open internet explorer it cannot find the url.
My email accoumnt is an HTTP also and it will not work. I have two FTP
prograns, WS-FTP and Filezilla, the strange part is that both of these
pfograms still work fine. It seems only have a problem getting connected to
http servers. One for a good Guru??

Odd problem especially since you can still FTP successfully. Does your ISP
log out your account if you are connection is not "active"? Do they have
DNS servers that you can configure manually instead of having them detected
automatically? Both of those questions can be answered by tech support for
your ISP.
