Chris

I have just carried out a fresh install of Windows XP SP1
on my computer. I have loaded all my drivers and the
latest from Windows Update.

Now, when i go on to various websites, (e.g. Hotmail /
MSN), I get the message "Script error Number :## Do you
want to debug?" This happens every time a page is loaded,
sometimes more than one appears at once and the error
numbers vary. What can I do to fix this problem, because
IE6 does not work properly! Because it is an integral
part of XP, you can't reinstall it either - can you?

Another minor problem - the icon which usually appears
when I am connected to the net no longer appears. How do
i get it back?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris.

Tools>internet options>advanced tab

Find "Disable script debugging" and check the box

Find "Display a notification about every script error" and uncheck it.

See if that fixes the first problem.

Start>settings>network and dial up connections... select the appropriate one

On the properties page for that should be "Show icon in taskbar when
connected". Check the box.
