I have the same problem, MSN hangs for 10 secs or so before
asking for username and password, then wont connect.
IE will not load a website, just hang looking for my IP.
Mozilla works fine.

Found my answer deeo into MSN web help. Unclicking "autodetect settings",
in LAN settings in IE.
 
I have same problem. Everytime I launch IE it says it has encountered a
problem and needs to close. Just happened today after downloading sp2. How
do I get to the fix you are referring to below?
