Follow these steps to change the text in the Internet Explorer title bar to
anything you want.

Go to Start / Run and type regedit and press OK. This will open the
registry editor.

In regedit navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

In the right side window, double click the Window Title and replace the text
in that value to whatever text you want to appear in the title bar. Click OK
and close regedit. If you remove the text and leave that value blank, the
name of whatever website you are viewing will appear in the title bar.

Many thanks. I have now cleared the IE caption bar but not Outlook
Express...I have found it in the registry but there is no windows title near
it and I am scared to do anything in the registry unless I know what I am
doing. Is there another way to get rid of the title in Outlook Express? Your
advice about IE was extremely helpful.Alan Anderson.

Your welcome and sorry, I should have included this in the original message.

The location for the Outlook Express branding is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\<long string of
numbers>Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0

In the right side window the value to be changed is called WindowTitle.
