Unfortunately, this isn't quite enough information for you to get
specific answers. Here are the sorts of things that you should tell us:

1. How do you connect to the Internet? Dialup or broadband? Name of ISP?
2. What hardware are you using to do it? Modem or internal network
adapter? USB network adapter?
3. Were you ever able to connect, and if so - what changed?
4. And last but definitely not least: is your computer 100% virus and
malware free? If you think so, what did you do to determine that?

Thanks Malke,
1. Broadband through Netcall
2. Billion Modem.... Lan connection
3. Yes... had Trojan.... restored HP system Recovery.... still worked...
tried to connect Modem through IP address...crashed PC rebooted and this is
the result.... cannot find search engine
4. Cleared all virus (I believe), using Spybot S&D and adaware.

OK, I don't believe your computer is clean. Spybot S&D and Ad-aware
remove non-viral malware and are not antivirus programs. You need a
full-featured antivirus installed on your computer. Since you
apparently don't have one, start by scanning in Safe Mode with
TrendMicro's Syclean:

TrendMicro's Sysclean is an extensive antivirus tool which has the
advantage of not needing to be installed. It requires two parts - the
scanning engine and the virus pattern files. Delete all Temporary and
Temporary Internet Files before running the program.

1. Create a new folder on your Desktop or the C: drive named something
useful like "Sysclean".
2. Go here and download the two parts of the program to that folder:

http://www.trendmicro.com/download/dcs.asp - Sysclean
http://www.trendmicro.com/download/pattern.asp - virus pattern files

The pattern files will be zipped - extract them with your unzipper (like
WinZip) or if you have XP, you can just open the folder. You need to
put the extracted files in the Sysclean folder you made. For a more
automated way to get Sysclean, use Dave Lipman's Sysclean_FE from
http://www.ik-cs.com/got-a-virus.htm .

3. Restart your computer in Safe Mode. Get into Safe Mode by repeatedly
tapping the F8 key as the computer is starting up to get to the proper
menu.
4. Go to the Sysclean folder you made and double-click on sysclean.com.
Start the scan. After the scan is finished, look at the log. You may
need to make a note of where any viruses were found if they were not
able to be removed so you can manually delete them.

After you have completed scanning with Sysclean, get and install a
full-featured av, update its definitions, and do a thorough scan in
Safe Mode. After that, update Spybot (make sure you have version 1.4)
and Ad-aware's definitions and scan with them in Safe Mode.

Obviously, you will need to get all tools/updates from a different,
known-clean computer with an Internet connection and a cd burner. If
this is not possible or cleaning your computer seems daunting, there is
no shame in taking the machine to a computer professional (not your
local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).
